Zekkei Chalet

The Zekkei chalet, with a Japanese name that translates into “the absolute view”, enjoys a secluded yet conveniently accessible spot in the Main Hirafu village. It has been for a long time the definition of a luxury ski home since it was built in 2007.

Zekkei’s absolutely stunning interiors feature vaulted ceilings, full eco-friendly geothermal heating and vast picture windows overlooking the rice terrace valley and Mt Yotei beyond. Expansive wood paneling and the refreshing palette of neutral tones gives it a lovely cozy feel despite the house’s impressive size of 364 sqm. From early morning, the sun streams into the spacious interior, flooding this fabulous chalet with warmth and light.

Ideal for joint family trips and a big group of friends traveling together, the house has five generously laid out ensuite king bedrooms plus an ensuite kids’ room furnished with double bunks. Three of the well-appointed ensuite bathroom has a Japanese hinoki bathtub for some onsen-style goodness from the privacy of your own residence.

The open-plan living and dining area is characterized by the generous use of Canadian wooden beams, coupled with modern and sleek interior furnishing and heated timber flooring for ultimate comfort and style. The dining area is highlighted with an oversized table handmade of Siberian elm wood, while the white marble fire place in the huge lounge presents the perfect setup for entertaining.

There is a dedicated ski equipment storage and drying room for skiers’ convenience. Guests can well take advantage of the house’s great Main Hirafu village location, just less than 10 minutes away from the ski area.
